Overland Park Awards is a family-owned awards business with over 40 years of experience. We specialize in personalization, recognition, promotion, awards, and gifts. We help customers in a variety of ways. Customers sometimes bring in items to personalize or we order items for customers to be personalized in-house or through outsourcing. Sometimes it can even be a combination of these two methods. We work with several vendors, including many local businesses. It’s a fun place to work with limitless opportunities to be creative and take designs and customer’s expectations to the next level.
We are looking for a creative, flexible individual who is comfortable with modern design software. This individual will be tasked with creating designs for both customers and producing these items using the appropriate production methods.
Responsibilities
- Professional, thoughtful, and engaging communication skills including in-person, phone calls, and emails with customers and vendors.
- Ability to provide designs, design changes, and assistance every step of the way with customers and vendors.
- Creating custom designs using design software.
- Learning and operating a variety of machines and equipment including laser engravers, UV printing, sand carving, and sublimation.
- Assisting with production including assembling trophies, awards, plaques, and other personalized items.
- Communicating and working collaboratively throughout the process of each customer’s order.
Qualifications
- Must have graphic design experience and/or education.
- Must be familiar with modern design software.
- Willingness to learn.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Creativity.
- Flexibility.
- Ability to adapt to a variety of tasks and challenges – no two days are the same and no two projects are identical.
- A strong understanding of design principles, color theory, typography, and visual hierarchy.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
